The Twins are convinced Cuddyer is hitting because he is playing OF. So they won't move Cuddyer. Theoretically, quasi-psuedo alpha males who can play a passable 3B are worth more than those who can play OF, but would you move Cuddyer mid-season, off-season, or not at all?
Besides Cuddyer, what is the alternative to Teruis Castrunto at 3B in 2006? 2007 and beyond?

It depends on whether or not Matt Moses wants to start hitting again and David Winfree wants to return to the organization. The only alternative out there is trade, and it's kind of slim pickings for third basemen out there. Maybe the White Sox trade you Josh Fields if they really want Hunter that bad. But that doesn't really solve anything because it creates another hole. Maybe the Dodgers trade Aybar when Mueller returns or LaRoche proves ready. Other than that, all you can do is take a chance on Tiffee or go after someone like Sean Burroughs and take a shot on his "potential."
Hopefully Cuddyer heads back to the position sometime after the All-Star break. If it were my team, I'd do it ASAP.
So what do you think it would take to acquire Russell Branyan now? He can DH or play wherever Cuddyer doesn't. I think if Guerrier was healthy, he might be enough to do the trick.
